Our Corporate Sustainability & ESG
AptVet develops public health testing and monitoring systems in Nigeria and abroad through its scientific programs. As we seek to become the most sustainable laboratory in the world, we are dedicated to creating a healthier future for everybody. Our sustainability goals also explain how AptVet can help reach the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations.
To combat infectious diseases that pose the greatest risk to global health
AptVet is a public health reference laboratory capable of detecting, identifying, and responding to global infectious disease risks. These include advanced molecular detection, antimicrobial resistance, vector-borne diseases, Ebola, HIV, influenza, MicrobeNet, Rabies, respiratory infections (non-influenza), STDs, tuberculosis, vaccine-preventable diseases, and viral hepatitis.
Antimicrobial Resistance Stewardship
AptVet collaborates with the CDC and public health laboratories to diagnose and respond to resistant illnesses. AptVet assists public health laboratories in combating antibiotic resistance by assessing competency and capacity, delivering training, and collaborating with clinical laboratory partners. AptVet also collaborates in multi-organizational initiatives to offer recommendations, produce instructional materials for laboratories, and organize events for public health and clinical laboratories to facilitate a smooth flow of specimens and information.
